This is My Very First Post

Until tonight, I hadn’t realized that I had never posted on this site. So this is my replacement post for the ubiquitous “Hello, World” post you get when you install a fresh version of WordPress. There must be some back story with “Hello, World.” Every JavaScript book I have ever read has had its readers write “Hello, World” using a simple JavaScript. Maybe these were the first words transmitted across the Internet or the World Wide Web.

This site, MarciaHart.com, is my personal site. I actually now have three sites, if you don’t count my product listings on Amazon, Etsy, and RedBubble. I sell books on Amazon, and print on demand products (shirts, blankets, mugs, tote bags, hats, phone cases, Christmas ornaments, etc.) on Etsy and RedBubble. With the Etsy shop, I specialize in creating personalized products for people. Someone needs a birthday mug for a friend? I’ve got you covered with a cute mug with the friend’s name on it. I only have a few sales on all of my online stores. I haven’t really done much with the books for years (although the books are still on Amazon). With Etsy I am still learning how to sell print on demand. I am learning how to spot what is trending, how to market, etc. There is definitely a learning curve! I keep plodding along though! I am far too stubborn to quit. Folks who believe that selling print on demand is a get rich quick scheme just do not realize what is entailed.

My three sites that I mentioned earlier are this one (the personal one), MarciaHart.art (a site for my art), and DesignerGirlGallery.com (a blog site to help market my Etsy products). Currently MarciaHart.art is kind of a hybrid site, since it has art galleries on it, but also personal photo galleries and other personal pages. I plan to move all the personal stuff to this site and use the art site solely for art and design. I am definitely trying to be better organized and simplify. At one time I had several domain names and websites. Truth is I no longer have the resources (either energy-wise or financial) to keep up all those websites. Best to let most of them go. Hopefully I am getting a bit wiser in my old age. It’s about time LOL! The past few years have brought health struggles and mobility issues. I need to concentrate on my health with some time carved out for my creative activities. It is important to me that I get to know Jesus Christ, so my priorities need to do some serious shifting.

It’s about time to relax a little bit. 🙂 Goodnight.

Marcia
